Below are all the videos in chronological order. Starting with the latest.
For easy access here's an alphabetical overview.
Please don't ask for dvds or better quality clips. If you're the band I might do it, but that would be the only reason.
Please note: The as of yet unlinked clips are either in the making
or just not yet embedded from YouTube on this page - the latter kind are marked with an asterisk (*).
And there are probably more in the archives to be unearthed...
I generally ask the artists and/or the organizers about filming and let the artists decide afterwards if they want the clip online or not.
If for some reason this has not been the case and the clip being here is a problem, please e-mail me at lsd_dk [@] hotmail [.] com and I will remove it. Please take in consideration that this is non-profit work and is done to spread the word about great music.
Please note that the quality of the recordings may vary.
Thank you.

KURvE
Balkan Express, Teater Katapult, May 30, 2009
Saturday the 30th of May local balkanpunk band KURvE played a great gig at Teater Katapult. The place was packed with people and steaming from all the jumping around and dancing. 'århus:nu' was there to film what was going on. So here's a little video featuring three songs - the last one with KURvE's bassplayer all of a sudden giving up his "weapon" and just jumping into the crowd to join the dancing. Who can blame him?

Interview with Mads Stobberup (Klub Arrogant / Cola Freaks)
Arrogant Tour, Surface, May 23, 2009
During the Spot Festival 'århus:nu' interviewed Mads Stobberup - the man behind the Arrogant Tour that rocked Aarhus outside the confines of the official festival. Mads also sings in the punk band Cola Freaks. Here he talks about what Klub Arrogant is and how and why they did the tour during the Spot Festival. He also encourages others to organize more shows.
The interview is in (unsubtitled) Danish.

Spot Festival Musikhuset Aarhus and Ridehuset, May 21-23, 2009
The annual Spot Festival is over and here is a selection of moments from it. This year more musicians started acting outside the confines of the actual festival doing their own thing. This is also included in the video.
Obviously one can't get around and see all the bands on the festival - and who would? It's just too much. And often the indoor venues were backed up with audience trying to get in. Even at shows by the bands that were not headlining the festival. So the question could now be: does Spot need the big headliners to attract a crowd these days?
Anyways, here's some music for you. Enjoy!
This is the video. Some words in Danish have also been written in a blog elsewhere - Støj på overfladen.

Fossils
Arrogant Tour, Lobby, May 21, 2009
Aarhus duo Fossils played as part of the Arrogant Tour during the Spot Festival (but outside it). A fantastic gig which could easily prompt one to burst out that they are one of Aarhus' best live bands. Judge for yourself... here's some video from that gig.

Joe Buck
Musikcaféen, February 12, 2009
On February 12th Joe Buck rocked a packed Musikcaféen with a footstompin' set. If you're not allergic to the word "motherfucker" then have a look below. There's a few songs from the show - which Klub Arrogant put on.

Lucky Dragons Musikcaféen, February 3, 2009
February 3rd American sound artist Lucky Dragons visited Musikcaféen with his unique take on what a concert is supposed to be. Starting out with ethereal soundscapes to a flowery video backdrop he moved more and more into crowd participation. Already with his laptop on the floor (not on the stage, but in the middle of the venue) the audience sat and stood around him in the half-dark. Starting with handing out odd shakers with attached wires the audience could produce their own echo-treated rattling sounds adding them to the sounds already coming from the laptop. An electronic device was then introduced which reacted to hand movements increasing the flow of sound. This machine later had long wires added which then allowed the audience to influence the sound further. Intensifying the sounds by touching the wires and even more so by touching each other - affecting the current running through them in some way. Neat idea. And it could just have been that if it was not also for the fact that the music produced was both beautiful and mesmerizing. A very "social" event, so to speak. When did you last see so many strangers holding hands at one time in this day and age?
The organizers of LJUD once again set up a great show.
Below is a collection of moments from the show captured on video. Sorry for the dark quality of the pictures. The show was pretty much without any lighting. It's quite okay for the human eye, but difficult for a videocamera to pick up.

Blectum From Blechdom
Musikcaféen, February 2, 2009
We got a lot of live videos in the making. They will be coming up in the weeks to come. This one is of Blectum From Blechdom from when they played at Splab on February 2nd. Quite entertaining melodic madness...

Hauschka
Musikcaféen, January 15, 2009
On January 15th German musician and composer Hauschka played at Musikcaféen. This he did on a socalled "prepared piano" augmenting the classic piano sound by placing objects in the piano itself.
Hauschka released the album "Ferndorf" on Fat Cat Records in 2008 and it got lots of great reviews - even landing on some "best of 2008" lists. Here's a review (in Danish) of the Aarhus concert written by Geiger.
The show was organized by LJUD.

Fallen Men
Teater Katapult, November 29, 2008
To start things off a bit here at the new 'århus:nu' site here's a recently filmed piece of video. This is the last song from the Fallen Men gig at the Gymnoten release party at Teater Katapult in November of 2008.
Pretty trashy... as Fallen Men gigs always are.
Leonard Davis (singer and songwriter - in essence Fallen Men) has a new 7-inch out, by the way. You can listen to it at the Fallen Men MySpace page.

Eugene Chadbourne
Elektronisk Jazzjuice, Musikcaféen, July 19, 2008
Eugene Chadbourne live at Elektronisk Jazzjuice festival in Aarhus, Denmark, on July 19, 2008 (part of the Aarhus International Jazzfestival).
The gig was in the little courtyard between the two venues of Jazzjuice where there was a bit of people walking back and forth. And it was raining a bit. Also, the sound engineer was frantically trying to get the amp to work for when Eugene had to change from banjo to electric guitar. Hence he was "on stage" on and off all the time. Unfortunately somewhat annoying. But he did get it to work in the end. Eugene played a superb gig, though. I've read that it was one of his less "avantgarde" shows compared to usually, but damn it was great.
Recording wise I've put the rough video up here - minus the passages where the sound engineer is "too active" and actually stands in front of the camera. So that explains the cuts here and there. But all in all this is the most of the gig. Put together in two 10 minute sections for you viewing pleasure on YouTube. I bought three cds from Eugene at the show - one of them being "Peking Doc", which I have enjoyed so much since then. I'm not that knowledgeable about his massive discography, but I can say that if you like the style he's playing here you can safely go get "Peking Doc".
This gig was filmed on the second day of the festival. He also played with Gangstajazz the first night.

Nisennenmondai
Elektronisk Jazzjuice, Musikcaféen, July 19, 2008
Full show (except short break in the middle to fix bassdrum). Sorry for the not so perfect sound. It was damn loud (and damn great!). :-) In places where I had to move around and the footage became TOO jumpy I've snuck in a few shots from the festival in general.

A few clips from the 2006 edition of the Elektronisk Jazzjuice Festival in Aarhus, Denmark. Far from all acts featured here, as I only shot a bit with my small digicam (and not that well - although the sound is not too bad, surprisingly).
In later years I filmed much more at Jazzjuice and with a dv-cam. But I figured I would upload this little "medley", because there were some really fantastic gigs. Among them Daedelus and Battles. Rumpistol is also featured in this clip. Too bad I didn't film more that year. But I think I made up for it the following years. ;-)
