Spot 12
Festival 1. Intro
by presenter Recorded
by Lars
Quality: A very good soundboard recording. Instrument and vocals levels are good and without distortion. Presenter on track one is Anders Pedersen of Giant Sand.

| La Cigale 2006 - Paris, France | ||
Les Femmes
S'en Melent #9 Festival, La Cigale 1. Plantage Recorded
by radio France Inter.
Quality: A good radio recording. Live broadcast by French radio France Inter (the show C'est Lenoir). Tracks 1 to 5 were broadcast live slightly displaced on April 18, 2006, while tracks 6 and 7 were broadcast the following day.
| Store Vega 2006 - Copenhagen, Denmark | ||
Store Vega CD 1: Recorded
by Lars |
Quality: This is a great sounding soundboard recording. Instrument and vocals levels are good. Sound does distort in a very few places in the loudest vocal parts, but that seems to be mostly because of the bullit mic that Henriette uses on some songs to distort her voice.
| Copenhagen Jazzhouse 2006 - Copenhagen, Denmark | ||
Total time
149 minutes. 2 CD. 12. P1 Kulturnyt Interview, January 18th 2006. Radio.
P3 Live
Interview, January 29, 2006. Radio. Leonard
Cohen Tribute Show, Store Vega, Copenhagen, 2005. Henriette
Sennenvaldt - Udenfor Sæsonen
Cover by Lars Photos used for cover taken by Casper Vildrik Justesen and Gaffa. |
Quality:
CD 1 contains the songs that were broadcast on Danish national radio two
times during January of 2006 - as well as an interview broadcast in a
radio shows earlier on the first broadcast day. The sound of the live
show couldn't be better. The interview has some radio static.
| Ungdomshuset 2005 - Copenhagen, Denmark | ||
Ungdomshuset,
Copenhagen, Denmark, August 6, 2005. 1. [Crowd]
Recorded
by Lars |
Quality: Good audience recording. Recorded from balcony in left side of venue with mic suspended from a crossing structure over the audience. Crowd is talkative in places, but as the mic is not close to them, no loud talking disturbs the recording. An energetic performance at this "punk" venue.
| Rampelys 2005 - Silkeborg, Denmark | ||
Rampelys,
Silkeborg, Denmark, April 29, 2005. 1. Kærlighedstema
[Panterplanker / 'Love Theme'] Recorded
by Lars |
Quality: Good soundboard recording. Sound level causes a little distortion in a very few places (on the loudest parts of the vocals). It was also around this time that Henriette started using the bullit microphone which distorts the vocals. The setlist on cover art also mentions the song sometimes known as "Lill-Babs", but it wasn't played.

| Voxhall 2004 - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
Total time
149 minutes. 2 CD. CD 1: VPRO Session,
Desmet (Studio), Amsterdam, Holland, June 23, 2004. Univers,
Aarhus Festival Week, Aarhus, Denmark, August 28, 2004. Bonus tracks: Jomi Massage.
Voxhall, Aarhus, Denmark, November 26, 2004. Supporting Under Byen. Selected
tracks. Soundboard. Voxhall
and Univers recorded by Lars Photos used for cover taken by Jint. |
Quality: Voxhall and Univers are good soundboards where the instrument levels are good and balanced. Univers are little loud in a few places, though. VPRO Session interview is in English.
| Studenterhuset 2004 - Odense, Denmark | ||
Studenterhuset,
Odense, Denmark, November 25, 2004. 1. Lenin
Recorded
by 'Cutcart' |
Quality: Good audience recording. A bit "box-like" in sound sometimes and some barely audible sounds from the recording device in quiet passages, but all in all a good recording.
| Café De La Danse - Paris, France | ||
Café
De La Danse, Paris, France, November 1, 2004. 1. Lenin
Recorded

Quality: Good audience recording.
| Kulturnat København 2004 - Copenhagen, Denmark | ||
DR Byen,
Ørestaden, Copenhagen, Denmark, October 8, 2004. Recorded
by Under Byen's sound engineer |
Quality: This recording is a good soundboard. The broadcast itself was live and direct, but had some technical problems. Luckily it was recorded in-house by the band's sound engineer as well - and this is that recording (the sound is much better). The intro, outro and interview were taken from the broadcast, though.

| Popkomm 2004 - Berlin, Germany | ||
"The
Prime of Danish Talents", Popkomm Festival 2004, Silverwings, Berlin,
Germany, September 30, 2004. Danmarks Radio (P3 Live). 1. Pre-Show
Interview with Stine and Thorbjørn. Live in
Hamburg Bonus: Berlin recorded
by Recorded by Danish National Radio DR (radio) & sound engineer (soundboard) |
Quality:
A good radio and soundboard recording. Under Byen's live broadcast from
Berlin was cut short to make room for an interview with Saybia - in the
middle of "Legesag". Hence the last tracks of the show was sourced
from a soundboard recording done by the sound engineer.

| Cactus Festival 2004 - Brugge, Belgium | ||
Minnewaterpark,
Cactus Festival, Brugge, Belgium, July 9, 2004. 1. Intro
speaker 11. Cucamonga Interview - Radio 1, June 7, 2004. Webradio. In English. Recorded
by Radio 1 |
Quality: This is seems to be either a good soundboard or a radio recording. Audience clapping clearly audible. Interview was recorded from good quality webstream and album tracks edited out just leaving the talking.
| Roskilde Festival 2004 - Roskilde, Denmark | ||
Odeon Stage,
Roskilde Festival, Roskilde, Denmark, July 2, 2004. 1. Introduction
- Announcer Recorded
by Jint Photos used for cover taken by Jint. |
Quality: This is a great soundboard recording. The stage also had mics to pick up the audience (and the band's stage sound). So this sounds a lot like a radio recording. The sound has also been mastered afterwards.

Les Femmes
S'en Melent #7 Festival, Café De La Danse, Paris, France, April

La Lune
Des Pirates, Amiens, France, April 28, 2004. 1. Intro
- Lenin Recorded
by Jean-Pierre |
Quality: Fine bootleg. Instrument levels are good. Volume could have been a little higher, but the recording doesn't suffer from it. Very slight hiss.

Black Session,
France Inter, Studio Charles Trenet, Maison de Radio France, Paris, France,
April 26, 2004 1. Plantage Recorded

| Eurosonic 2004 - Groningen, Holland | ||
Total time
76 minutes (with all tracks). 1. Hjertebarn Some version
of this cd also include: Eurosonic
recorded by Danish National Radio DR Photos used for cover taken by Pepijn van den Broeke. |
Quality: Eurosonic is as good as a radio recording can get. PortPolis is an audience recording that is a little windy and not recorded directly at the speakers.
| århus:nu interview 2004 - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
Aarhus Student
Radio (Studio), Aarhus, Denmark, January 4, 2004. 1. Interview:
2003, Udenlandske koncerter. Interview
conducted by Lars Kjær Dideriksen |
Quality: Radio quality. Straight from master.
| Voxhall 2003 - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
Total time
69 minutes. 1. Hjertebarn All recorded
by Lars Photos used for cover taken by Martin Dam Kristensen and Jint. |
Quality: Voxhall sounds levels are a bit too loud and hence a little too much bass and drums. But nothing that ruins the recording. Spot 09 is an audience recording from a large indoor music hall. Not close to speakers, but with a quiet audience. These recordings might not have perfect sound, but are still very fine and any lacks in that department are made up for by it being new and rare songs. Fricke's amusing introduction has bad sound, though.
| Malersaal 2003 - Hamburg, Germany | ||
Malersaal,
Hamburg, Germany, October 11, 2003. 1. Sylfiden |
Quality: Clean sound. Seems to be a small/medium venue and recorded not directly at the speakers. A bit "box-like" sound compared to the best soundboard bootlegs, but it is a very good audience recording which of course captures the energy at bit better - as well as the audience (which is quiet during the songs).
| Logo 2003 - Hamburg, Germany | ||
Logo, Hamburg,
Germany, March 20, 2003. 1. Lenin Recorded
by Bugfix? |
Quality: A very nice soundboard recording. Small edited skips in sound on track 3.
| Vega 2003 - Copenhagen, Denmark | ||
Vibration
Kbh Festival, Lille Vega, Copenhagen, Denmark, February 15, 2003. 1. Intro
(new one - not Lenin) Recorded
by Willer |
Quality: Very good soundboard recording. Has some 'room' or 'air' in the sound despite it being recorded through the mixer (must be some kind of 'reverb'). Clear and clean sound.
| Forbrændingen 2002 - Albertslund, Denmark | ||
Forbrændingen,
Albertslund, Denmark, September 14, 2002. CD 1: Recorded
by Willer Photo used for cover taken by Mads Vraa. |
Quality: Good audience recording. Digital hiss is audible in the quieter parts of the show.
| Vega 2002 - Copenhagen, Denmark | ||
Vega, Copenhagen,
Denmark, May 11, 2002. 1. Intro
- Lenin Recorded
by Danish National Radio DR Photos used for cover taken by Mads Vraa. |
Quality: As good as a radio recording can get.
| Spot 08 Festival 2002 - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
Total time
77 minutes. 1. Intro
- Lenin Miljøfestival,
Rådhuspladsen, Copenhagen, May 30, 2002. Recorded
by Lars |
Quality: Spot 08 is a medium audience bootleg done in front of a stage in a foyer. It contains a superb version of "Siamesisk". Miljøfestivalen had medium stage sound and it was outside on a slightly windy day. The full recording is not included due to it being "windy". But it contains the rare "Batteri Generator" which has only been played live very few times.

| Univers 2000 - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
Total time
149 minutes. 2 CD. CD 1: Interviews:
Recorded
by Lars (except radio interviews) |
Newspaper
headline reads: |
Quality:
Univers 2000 is an audience recording done at a rather large outdoor venue
- probably 10 meters from the stage. Talkative crowd in places as well
as plastic beerglasses being stepped on. But music is clearly audible
despite these irritable elements that pop up in a few places.

| Train 1999 - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
Alternate
title: " De Store Følelsers Musik". 1. Skybrud
(early song never released) Recorded
by Danish National Radio DR |
Quality: Really good radio recordings. The Popshop interview is sourced from tape and hence doesn't not have crystal clear sound.

| Howe Gelb: Sandman Series # 7 - Sonisk Postkort - Aarhus, Denmark | ||
73 + 71
minutes. CD 1: Recorded
by Lars |
![]() |
Notes: The Sandman Series is a string of cd-r's with authorized live bootleg recordings done by fans etc. distributed for free through the socalled "cd-r tree" at Howe Gelb's homepage www.giantsand.com. At Howe Gelb's small "workshop" shows at Café Mozart in the summer of 2002 Under Byen members appeared as guest musicians. Mostly Nils Gröndahl, but Myrtha Wolf, Katrine Stochholm, Thorbjørn Krogshede and Anders Stochholm also played with Howe there over the summer. These recordings more or less documents the shaping of the as-of-then unreleased "The Listener" album. The band take part in about half the songs on cd 1 and most the songs on cd 2 in one way or another. At the September show Katrine Stochholm did a half hour solo show on piano before Howe went on stage. Those recordings are not on these discs, though. Quality: Musikcaféen is a brilliant soundboard. Café Mozart has different qualities ranging from good audience to good soundboard - and sometimes a mix of the two. Levels are good. Still, vocals may be a little loud in a few places on the Café Mozart recordings. |
