Right, this is the old one. For those of you who have already the bootlegs with really good quality. Not to say this is bad, but it's an older audience recording with a few downs....and some nice ups.

Notes: Univers 2000 is an audience recording done at a rather large outdoor venue - probably 10 meters from the stage. Talkative crowd in places as well as plastic beerglasses being stepped on. But music is clearly audible despite these irritable elements that pop up in a few places. It's mostly annoying on the few very quiet songs. In some places the mic makes a few scratchy noises. Nothing too bad. It was done at a time when I had little experience with bootlegging shows, but with that in mind turned it out rather good.
What makes up for the little problems are: It's the oldest torrented bootleg of an entire show. And a pre-"Det er mig" gig and contains many songs not played these last couple of years. Among them the very quiet intro with "Ingenting Hos Mig", an energetic album version of "Fugle Og Ild" (unlike the pre-album version and remix version on other bootlegs), a 12 minute version of "Kyst" (that ends in a disco-like thing - with strobelights and all - which was only played in that way at that particular time. The arrangement later changed a lot) and the rare TV-2 cover song "Kalundborgbåden" which is not available on any other bootleg (to my knowledge). It also contains the great Povl Dissing-cover song "Hvor er man henne?", but the best recording (superb!) of that one is found on the Vega 2002 radio broadcast bootleg.

-----------
If you don't know the band, you might find it interesting if you enjoy the music of Sigur Ros, Mum, (late-era) Talk Talk / Mark Hollis and Stina Nordenstam. Hm, maybe also Nina Nastasia (less folky, but with strings and good tunes). Under Byen rarely cite any direct musical influences, but on occasion band members have - besides the above - also expressed their fondness for artists such as Björk, Tori Amos, Tom Waits and Mogwai. The attentive listener might find elements of these here and there in the band's music. Kate Bush and the acoustic recordings of David Sylvian were also mentioned on tv as a reference the other day, but my knowledge on those are too little to "confirm" that.
Under Byen have worked with Giant Sand / Howe Gelb (and still do on occasion).
