Two days of cruising with Under Byen

Entertainment on board. Under Byen or the sleepy bar pianist or the cover band Mr. Radio which sounded like a karaoke show? The choice was an easy one.
Steffen and Kristina inspecting the mirrors of the other nightclub on board. The first sign of unhealthy fascination with mirror surfaces on the trip.

1. The cabin bar and Lars, an enthusiastic customer.

2. Seafood buffet at restaurant 7 Seas.

1. Some Danish band got in the way of this webmaster's debut as a stand-up comedian... (nah, not really)

2. Heaven 11. No seven, thank goodness.

First gig.
First gig.
First gig.
First gig.
What to do after midnight on a ship with deserted hallways? Well, the kid's corner is one thing...

1. ...but there was also this cobber globe with an uneven reflective surface. This was where the mirror fascination really took off. Yes, it was time to worry.

And there was even mirrors on the ceiling above.

Good morning, sunshine. Eh, well, good morning, anyway. Nice view of the fjord at Oslo, though.

The Crown Of Scandinavia docked at the Oslo harbour.
The main pedestrian street in Oslo with way too many McDonalds, Burger Kings, Vero Modas and other chainstores repeating themselves perpetually.
Didn't have any luck finding a way off the beaten path. If there was any way to do it at all.
The royal ducks didn't fancy Twix much, but the garden and lake behind the castle was nice.
A different angle by a better photographer. :-)

1. The further north you go, the more you have to be on the look-out for dangers. Even in department stores.

2. Escallators. And more mirrors!

In a midtown market we found Under Byen's tourbus and new tour manager.

- The band... the band...
- Do you see the light?
- THE BAND!
- Do you see the light?
- What light?
- Have you seeeen the light?
- Yes! Yes! Jesus H tap-dancing Christ... I have seen the light!

If you don't recognize that quote you're not old enough. ;-)

Flying frogmen. If you say so...
Cards in the cabin.
A sunset view from the ship going out of the Oslo fjord.
Second gig.
Second gig.
Second gig.
Second gig.
Second gig.
On the second night we discovered the socalled backstage area: the aft deck. Not very windy at all...
...and with a few bottles to sip from.
